1. When is the deadline to apply for admission to the MBA program?

Students are accepted for the fall and spring semester. Although there is no deadline for admission, candidates are encouraged to apply at least the semester before they wish to enter the program.

2. What is the likelihood that I will be accepted if I do not have the required 3.0 GPA?

Students can be accepted on probation if they do not meet the minimum standards. The final decision in such cases is based upon the likelihood of success in the program.

3. If I do not have an undergraduate business degree, what do I do about the prerequisites for the program?

The prerequisites may be satisfied by taking an undergraduate course (residence or online), CLEP test for the course (if offered), or successful completion of the MBA Primer (self-paced course offered online).

4. Will someone help me decide what classes to take in the MBA program?

The MBA Director will work with you as your advisor.

5. What types of assistantships are available?

One assistantship is awarded each academic year. Applications are required. These will be awarded by the Graduate MBA faculty based upon qualifications and merit.

6. What tracks are available in the program?

Two tracks are offered within the program: accounting and management.

7. What is your average class size?

The average class size is 10 students.

8. Do I need to take the GMAT before being admitted to the program?

Yes, the GMAT must be taken before you will be admitted.

9. Who teaches the courses in the program?

All faculty who teach hold terminal degrees in their field. Most have industry experience in their field.

10. What are the admission standards?

Admission is competitive and based on a candidate's academic record, GMAT score, work experience, and interviews. The GMAT test score must be dated within the past five years. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree from a 4-year accredited college.

11. What is the cost of the MBA?

The cost of the degree is approximately $24,800. Books and international trips are in addition to this cost. (At this time the tuition rate is $600 per hour).

12. What if I do not have an undergraduate business degree?

Approximately half of the students in the program at any one time do not have business degrees. Diverse backgrounds enrich the learning of all students.

13. When are the classes offered?

All courses are offered in 8-week sessions at night. Most are offered one night a week for 3.5 hours.

1. When is the deadline to apply for admission to the MSIS program?

Students are accepted for the fall, spring, or summer semester. Although there is no deadline for admission, candidates are encouraged to apply at least the semester before they wish to enter the program.

2. If I do not have an undergraduate computer related degree, what can I do to get accepted into the program?

Although an information systems or computer science degree is usually preferred for entry into the program, a minor in information systems or computer science is acceptable with approval of the program director.

3. Will someone help me decide what classes to take in the MSIS program?

Yes, the GMAT should be taken before entry, but may be completed within 60 days of conditional admission with permission of Program Director.

11. Can I continue to work and complete my degree in a reasonable time?

Yes, the MSIS is designed for the working professional and is offered as a part-time degree which can be finished in two years including the summer sessions. A student has up to 5 years to complete the degree.
