Dr. Chris Ballard came to UMHB in 2002.  She is a graduate of UMHB, where she majored in nursing (BSN) and psychology (MA), and St. Mary’s University, where she received a Ph.D. in counseling, education, and supervision.  Dr. Ballard is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and an LPC Supervisor.  She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).  Dr. Ballard has many years of experience in nursing and in teaching undergraduate psychology.  In 1997 she became a full-time graduate faculty member in the UMHB Graduate Counseling and Psychology Department.  In addition to her teaching, she is actively involved in community service in the local area and holds a special passion for working with marginalized clients. She is a devoted mentor to her students.
