Timeline for application:

Completed packets will be stamped with date/time of receipt. 

  • Application deadline is postmark date of February 1st.
  • Candidate interviews will be held in February and March.
  • Cohort members will be announced April 1st.
  • Cohorts begin each summer.

Admissions Requirements and Procedure:

  • Completion of Ed.D. Program Application for Admission
  • Completion of University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Graduate School Application $35 application fee (Paid upon acceptance to the program.)
  • Official transcript of a completed Master's degree from an accredited university in an area related to the proposed studies, with a minimum grade, point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for courses applied toward a Master's degree.
  • Submissions of scores from the Graduate Record Exam (G.R.E.) or may, upon approval, submit the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Miller Analogies Test (MAT), or other nationally-recognized aptitude tests with comparable scores.
  • Essay, of approximately 500 words, describing the applicant's background, professional career goals, and reason for pursuing a doctoral degree (The essay and the interview will be held on the same day.)
  • Interview with the Ed.D. Executive Council
  • Currently or previously involved in an educational leadership experience encompassing a number of settings, including schools, colleges and universities, health and human service agencies, and community-based organization.
  • Receipt of three completed references addressing the applicant's professional and academic background.
  • Submit an employee letter of support.
