UMHB Receives $1 Million Gift

04/14/08

Belton, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor recently received a $1 million gift from the estate of Dr. Ralph Wilson, Jr., a Temple resident who was a good friend to the university and who died in December.

According to the university's president, Dr. Jerry G. Bawcom, Ralph Wilson was a personal friend who had given generously to the university for many years. The gift from Wilson will be used to establish the Dr. Ralph Wilson Jr. and Sharon Marie Wilson Endowed Scholarship to benefit students.

"We are very excited to be able to honor Ralph Wilson in perpetuity through an endowed scholarship," Bawcom said. "There will always be several students receiving a scholarship from Ralph and Sharon Wilson, and I know he would be very pleased to see those students helped."
