Dr. Barbara Gresham, PT, PhD, GCS
Director, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
Barbara is Associate Professor and Director of the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UMHB. Barbara has practiced in a variety of clinical settings, with a focus on geriatrics and clinic administration, and has 22 years of experience in physical therapy education. Barbara earned her physical therapy degree at UT Southwestern in Dallas and completed her PhD in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas. Barbara has served on the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, including 2 years as chair, as well as being an active and involved member of the American Physical Therapy Association/Texas Physical Therapy Association.
Barbara and her husband Pat, a high school football/soccer coach, have been married for 36 years. Their older son Drew lives in Austin with his wife Kayla and children Wynn and Charlotte. Their younger son Shea lives in Cleveland Ohio and is completing his PhD at Case Western Reserve University. Pat and Barbara are members of Oak Grove Baptist Church in China Spring, TX. They enjoy outdoor activities such as running, biking and kayaking, and also enjoy traveling to new places.
